Real Talk is a community arts and cultural development project that engages with the critical concerns of power, gender, race, sexuality and violence through the options of social relationships.

In partnership with the Bankstown Poetry Slam, this ensemble of emerging voices speak up, speak back and speak out, giving us pause to listen deeply and be challenged.

Real Talk is language for a new century. It is contemporary, collaborative, community based cultural work that does not seek to make art for arts sake, but to make lyrical work that is embodied in the experiences and insights of young people in Western Sydney. Work that seeks out a world that is less hateful, less violent, less indifferent.

This is creativity at its most luminous.
